Pharmacy wall set for a new look

The pharmacy wall is set to be transformed

The Gorokan Amcal Pharmacy on Wallarah Rd is transforming its drab external wall into a thing of beauty.

The owners have put together a group of artists, ideas and painters for a collaboration to cover the wall with artwork.

“We invited Sarah Rowan, an Australian award-winning international speaker and speed-painting artist and thought leader from Melbourne, who empowers individuals and organisations to ignite a better future through creativity and art,” a spokesperson said.

“We extended our invitation to include local schools; and Northlakes High School has taken up our challenge with students investing in the program.

“The school has a group of talented young artists with a passion for mural and Indigenous art and (they) have helped in designing our project and documenting the project along with Sarah’s guidance.”

Rowan and the school artists are expected to begin work on site on Monday, April 29.

“It has taken a lot of paint, energy, planning and money, but we are all looking forward to this amazing transformation in our community,” the spokesperson said.

“Gorokan needs a little more beauty and colour.”
