The call is out for vocalists, dancers, instrumentalists, bands, actors and other young performers wanting to take part in this year’s Youth In Performing Arts (YIPA) program.

YIPA Director Gary Jackson said successful performers would take part in the annual YIPA variety concerts to be held at Laycock St Community Theatre in May, with auditions coming up.

Dance auditions will be held on Sunday, March 24, and all other auditions will be held on the weekend of April 6 and 7.

The YIPA team will also attend a number of high schools and dance studios across the region for auditions.

YIPA is for young performers who are attending high school, or aged up to 21.

To be eligible, performers must reside in the Central Coast LGA or attend a school or studio here on the Coast on a full-time basis.

It is a series of high-quality variety concerts presented each May, inclusive of all types of entertainment, featuring young performers with outstanding talent drawn from across the region.

YIPA provides an opportunity for youth with outstanding talent to perform in a professional venue.

It promotes and fosters the development of youth with outstanding talent through the support of adults with extensive experience in theatre and entertainment, including industry professionals.

YIPA is inclusive and helps to develop a sense of community amongst the youth of the Central Coast.

There is no comparison of items, individuals or schools.

Young people do what they like to do and do it well for the pleasure of performing in a high-quality variety concert.

YIPA is not affiliated with any school or any other arts organisation and is organised by a group of volunteers, many of whom have a background in the performing arts.
