Council grants for nine groups

Sport and Christmas events are the big winners in the latest funding from Central Coast Council’s Community Support Grant Program.

Christmas spirit is alive and well with a $1,782 grant for a pantomime by Coastal a Cappella and $4,900 going to Gosford Uniting Church for a carols event in Gosford.

Sporting groups to get a financial boost are: Special Olympics NSW for Interclub Golf Championships ($1,495.50); Umina United Soccer Club for a portable marquee to provide shade for volunteers working the barbecue ($2,194.50); Matcham Holgate Cricket Club to install grass over exposed concrete at Paul Oval cricket nets ($5,000); and Northern Lakes TFW Rugby League Carnival ($4,652).

Coast & Country Primary Care will receive $4,800 for a Mental Health Art Works Exhibition, Hardys Bay Community Church will get $5,000 for its Sounds for Citizens event and Ourimbah Region Residents Association will be helped with insurance and hall hire costs with a $915.87 grant.
