Free shuttle service to Patonga for ferry passengers

The Ettalong/Wagstaffe ferry service will remain diverted to Patonga indefinitely

A free shuttle service is set to operate during key travel times from Monday, June 19, between Ettalong and Patonga wharfs as ferry services continue on a diversion timetable.

With Fantasea Ferry Services having diverted the Ettalong/Wagstaffe to Palm Beach service to Patonga indefinitely due to shifting sands in Ettalong channel, passengers have been left high and dry with no way to get to Patonga to access the Palm Beach ferry.

The shuttle service will run between 5.30 and 9.30am and between 2.30 and 6.30pm from Monday to Friday.

It will leave approximately 35 minutes before the ferry departure time from Patonga wharf.

Disgruntled commuters at Patonga wharf

A weekend shuttle bus service will run extended hours during the day to meet the current scheduled timetable.

Transport for NSW is also in the process of organising a shuttle ferry service for Wagstaffe passengers to meet the shuttle bus at Ettalong wharf.

Advice on this Wagstaffe-Ettalong service will be released in coming days.

The NSW Coastal Dredging Strategy has identified the Ettalong Channel as a significant investment location, prioritising it for dredging to ensure safe navigation, including for the use of local ferry services.

Is the 0930 bus trip accepting passengers from the Palm Beach to Patonga trip that arrives at Patonga just prior to 9:30am?
