Brisbane Water Police have issued a warning following reports of baits being placed at Pearl, Umina and Ocean Beaches in recent weeks.
Reported baits have been removed and disposed of as far as possible, but police urge pet owners and parents of small children to be on the alert.
The matters have been reported to the NSW Police Force, Central Coast Council and the NSW Environment Protection Authority.
