Code Camp comes to Erina Heights

Kids can design, code and create a Jurassic World inspired computer game

Code Camp, a learn-to-code camp for kids aged 5-13, is coming to the Central Coast for the first time ever with an event at Central Coast Grammar, Erina Heights, on January 19-20.

The event aims to promote positive constructive screen time, improve intelligence, encourage creativity and provide valuable foundations for a tech-based future.

Since forming in 2013 Code Camp has inspired more than 100,000 children in over 350 schools across Australia to unleash imaginative ideas through technology.

On offer in person at Central Coast Grammar will be the new Roblocks Legends and the most popular camp that 50,000 Aussie kids have completed so far, Spark.

In the Spark program, kids can design, code and create a Jurassic World inspired computer game starring their favourite dinosaurs

Children will choose their hero from Blue the Velociraptor, T. Rex, and Therizinosaurus, then select Jurassic World backgrounds and collectibles to design a game.

Using drag and drop coding, they wiill bring their game to life adding animation, in-game physics and movement.

The Roblocks Legend program is popular

The Roblocks Legends program is for children aged 7-10 who are fans of the social gaming platform Roblocks.

It offers the chance to channel their enthusiasm into something constructive and creative, with coding skills they can carry on well into the future and possible careers.

Children will create their own dream games, developing an appreciation for the skills that go into making multiplayer adventure games and acquiring the skills to develop their own unique games to play with their friends.

The grassroots campaign is supported by over 400 partners and 200,000 educators worldwide.
