War memorial to get a facelift

Woy Woy War Memorial is set for a facelift following an allocation of $9600 from the NSW Government’s Community War Memorials Fund.

Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast Mr Adam Crouch said conservation work to be undertaken on the memorial in Brick Wharf Rd, included cleaning and repairs to the spire, as well as repairs to the marble inscription plaques.

“The Central Coast community lost many, many people to war and this sacrifice should never be forgotten,” Mr Crouch said.

“Woy Woy War Memorial is a place where our community regularly pays tribute to the war effort and it also represents a part of our community’s history.”

Funding is available on a bi-annual basis, with applications for the next round of funding closing on November 11.
