The Central Coast Regional Show will return to its spiritual home at Gosford Showground for two action-packed days of entertainment, agriculture and local produce, from April 14 to 15.
This community event, conducted by the Show Committee of Gosford Showground Trust, always presents something new and different to interest and entertain visitors of all ages. On the 14th, notable attractions include: Circaholics Anonymous Circus Skills workshops; the Sporting Horse Championship; Duel Shoot Out Barrels, Bending and Flagging; and a Drones Flying Display. A special Saturday feature commences from 3pm, with the 2018 judging of Central Coast Junior and Teen Showgirls. From 4pm onwards, the evening entertainment kicks off with the Flippin Disc Dogz Games, a country rock performance by Paul Costa and band, a fire dancing display from the Circaholics, and concludes with a fantastic fireworks display. “Last years’ fireworks were voted the best ever, so bring the family along,” said Trust Chair, Ms Roma Stonestreet.
“On the 15th, the Highland Muscle Games and Strong Man Competition are not to be missed. “These traditional Scottish games will amaze Show-goers with their performances,” she said. Special attractions on both days include lots of action from The Flippin’ Disc Dogz, which are Border Collies that perform aerial and ground acrobatics and tricks. The Reptile Park display will be doing walkabouts with an array of reptiles and other creatures. Kindifarm Animal Petting Nursery will also be about, letting the littlies get up close and personal. Moovin Balloonin, all the way from Queensland, will delight the kiddies lining up for a special balloon made just for them. The Memphis Moovers, also from Queensland, in their zany minicar, will bring their own take on rock and roll legends.
“It’ll be non-stop entertainment with two big stages, rides and fairground attractions,” Ms Stonestreet said. The regular Agricultural competitions will also be there, with everything from arts and craft, pets, produce, fruit and veg school, animal displays and lapidary. Entries are still open in the Junior and Teen Showgirl Competition and the Dress Up Pet Parade. A range of great prizes is on offer.
