After being started almost 10 years ago by “two fat blokes with a ute and an idea”, All Fired Up Fire Services, based at Erina, has taken out a major award at the Fire Protection Association’s National Awards.
The company was named Best Fire Protection Company with fewer than 50 employees at a gala awards evening at Darling Harbour on May 12.
Managing Director Craig Doyle said he and long-time mate Andy Mortlock had started the company in December, 2011, and had seen an average 35 per cent rise in business each year since.
“We do all things related to fire services, from fire safety inspections and certifications to servicing, repairs and installation.
“We work on everything from small cottages to multi-storey buildings, doing everything from tinkering with smoke alarms to major factory installations.
“We are locally owned and have no association with multi-national companies and have gone from zero to hero in a very short period of our time.”
Doyle said 80 per cent of the company’s work was on the Central Coast, with employment provided for 11 full-time and various contractors, all on the Central Coast.
“As Managing Director I look after the operational side of things and Andy takes care of the certification – ensuring all work is safe,” Doyle said.
The annual awards celebrate the achievements of those who are leading the way in fire protection and recognise the best of the best in the industry nationwide.
“We are celebrating our fabulous team and thanking everyone for their hard work and expertise,” Doyle said.
“We wish to acknowledge our clients and suppliers as it takes a village to make this happen.
“All Fired Up marks 10 years in business this December and what a spectacular way to celebrate.
“I’m proud of the team as this is a national award.
“To see All Fired Up take out such a prestigious award acknowledges our dedication to excellence in our industry, all whilst showcasing the business acumen in our fabulous region.
“Without the hard work of the AFU team winning this award would not be possible.”
