Man dies, woman injured in Lisarow crash

A man has died, and a woman has been injured, following a single-vehicle crash at Lisarow.

At about 6.30am on Tuesday, September 29, emergency services were called to the Pacific Hwy, Lisarow, after reports a Holden Commodore veered off the road.

Police were told the car was travelling south on the Pacific Hwy when it left the roadway near the intersection of Teralba St and crashed into a sign.

The driver, a man aged 65, was treated by passers-by.

Despite efforts to revive him, he died at the scene.

A female passenger was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries, before being taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District established a crime scene and the circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated.

It is believed the driver may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.
