Mangrove Mountain’s own Community Music event, Blues on the Mountain, returns to Mangrove Mountain Heritage Hall with one of its best lineups ever, on Saturday, May 12, featuring Australia’s kings of Roots Rock and Roll, The Detonators, and Sydney’s Blues and rockabilly stars, That Red Head.
The Detonators have performed at major festivals both nationally and internationally, with standout performances at the Great Southern Blues Festival, Australian Blues Music Festival and Belgium’s Peer Music Festival. With a distinctive 50’s Blues infused Rock n Roll flair, featuring Eddie Fury on Drums, Paulie the kid on lead guitar, doghouse Dave on double bass, and enigmatic frontman, Rockbottom James, on Blues harmonica and lead vocals, The Detonators are celebrating 21 years of filling dancefloors as one of Australia’s best live acts. “
We are absolutely thrilled to have The Detonators performing at Blues on the Mountain for the very fi rst time, and to host the band’s only Central Coast Show of the tour,” said event organiser, Mr Ryan Howard. Joining The Detonators is Sydney Blues and Rockabilly outfit, That Red Head, who has had a huge year performing at The Tamworth Country Music Festival and supporting John Butler Trio, as well as a string of headline shows, since releasing their debut album.
That Red Head, featuring award-winning drummer/ vocalist, Lozz Benson, and a red-hot string section of electric guitar and double bass, is quickly making a name for themselves as one of the country’s most exciting up and coming acts with their high energy rockabilly sound. Blues on the Mountain is a not for profit community event with all proceeds after costs going towards the upkeep of Mangrove Mountain Heritage Hall.
