More cost-of-living forums on the way

State Member for Gosford Liesl Tesch and Federal Member for Robertson Gordon Reid at the recent forum

A series of cost-of-living forums is being planned across the region following the success of the recent forum held at Narara.

More than 50 people attended the forum, which was organised by Federal Member for Robertson Gordon Reid in partnership with State Member for Gosford Liesl Tesch.

It was attended by representatives from Services Australia, Service NSW and Central Coast Council.

Reid said the purpose of the forum was to inform the community of cost-of-living assistance and the agencies that provide the support.

“The cost of living is the Federal Labor Government’s number one priority,” he said.

“Our cost-of-living forums are providing the community with the information they need to access existing assistance.

“We are also linking the community with government agencies like Services Australia and Service NSW, which administer our cost-of-living support.

“A big thank you to representatives from Services Australia, Service NSW, and Central Coast Council, who were able to provide expert advice.

“I would encourage interested community members to come along to our next forum.”

Tesch said cost of living was the number one issue that Coasties are facing.

“The Cost-of-Living Forums are a fantastic way for our community to find out what help is available, across every level of government,” she said.

“I encourage Coasties to come along to future forums and find out what support is available for you.

“Service NSW has put together a handy Cost-of-Living Hub, which brings together all NSW Government supports in one easy-to-navigate place.”

Dates for additional forums will be announced in coming weeks.
