Keen angler Martin Townsend was pleased to land this whopper after a recent fishing expedition to his secret spot on the Brisbane Water at Woy Woy.
He caught the 80cm 4.5kg jewfish on an 8lb line with a humble Hawkesbury River prawn.
“After a tense five-minute battle our great family friend visiting from Queensland, Rey Semiriano, managed to finally net it after almost knocking it off on first attempt,” Townsend said.
“This was Rey’s greatest fishing experience.
“We cooked it the same day; it was the tastiest fish we have ever eaten.”
