The Deepwater Older Women’s Network (OWN) is encouraging Coasties to buy some tickets in its annual Christmas raffle to raise money for Mary Mac’s Place at Woy Woy.
Members have been busy fundraising and shopping for pantry basics which can be used for hampers for destitute and hungry people in the community.
On December 4 they delivered more than $400 worth of food which was accepted by volunteer Nigel at Mary Mac’s Place.
“The kitchen was in full swing when we arrived, and it is reported that the number of people they feed and assist in the local community is growing in number every week due to cost-of-living pressures,” a spokesperson said.
“Christmas is a time for family, friends and sharing.
“Please consider helping us to help them by buying some tickets at our annual Christmas raffle adjacent K-Mart in Deepwater Plaza on December 13 and 14.
“There are great prizes are on offer and your purchase could help a family in dire circumstances.”
