Pat and Nev Vigors of Kanwal ended up being the big winners when they each started working at the Lottery Office in Sydney more than 70 years ago.
The two soon became a couple and were married at St. Fiacre’s church at Leichhardt on November 7, 1953.
The couple celebrated their platinum wedding anniversary at a family lunch on November 4 at 8 at Trinity, Morisset.
The couple lived at Leichhardt for some time, raising five children – Jan, Greg, Chris, Karen and Michelle – before moving to Maroubra where Nev eventually retired from the Lottery Office and Pat worked at a jewellery wholesalers until she also retired.
They then spent some time at Port Macquarie before moving to Belmont and now live at Arcare, Kanwal.
Nev had been a keen cricketer and surf club member and Pat a loving mother, homemaker and avid gardener.
They have 10 loving grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Joining the 70th anniversary family lunch were Pat’s older brother and his wife who had travelled from Queensland for the occasion.
Pat and Nev are both 93 years old and still enjoy every moment they have together.
