Community garden continues to blossom

The Sustainable Wetlands Agricultural Makers Project (SWAMP) at Tuggerah is going ahead in leaps and bounds following receipt of a $12,000 grant through the NSW Government’s Community Building Partnership Program which was used to buy raised garden beds and soil for the community garden.

The raised garden beds are made for easy accessibility for more community members to enjoy gardening.

The space has been created for people to connect and grow a community whether they are new to the area or just want to learn ways to grow and eat food.

Member for Wyong David Harris said the project enhanced the community with its access to local fresh produce and tips on gardening.

“SWAMP members have done an amazing job improving the space and continue to complete projects from the existing grant including an awning, frames and netting for the garden beds and timber to raise the existing garden beds,” he said.
