Shout out to carers

Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch with two of the carers at Fairhaven

Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said National Carers Week (October 15-21) with this year’s theme, Millions of Reasons to Care, was an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the vital work that carers do for family members and friends across the Central Coast.

He said unpaid care and support to people with disability, mental health conditions, chronic illness, drug and alcohol dependency or who are ageing was particularly commendable.

“Caring for a family member or friend takes time, dedication and patience,” he said.

“I can speak to my own lived experience as a carer and it can be a difficult role to undertake.

“However, we do it out of love for our family and friends and that’s why National Carers Week is such a great opportunity to celebrate the great work our carers do.”

Support is available through the Carer Gateway or call 1800 422 737.
