Highlighting seniors’ rights

A special event for seniors organised by Because We Care Boutique

The Because We Care Boutique will hold a special Seniors Community Morning Tea event on Monday, November 6, from 10am-11.30am at The Berkeley Centre, Glenning Valley.

The event will feature guest speaker Jenny Samuels from Seniors Rights Service, a leading advocate for senior citizens’ rights and wellbeing.

The event is designed to bring together the vibrant senior community for an enjoyable and educational experience.

Attendees can expect a warm and welcoming atmosphere, providing the perfect opportunity to connect with fellow seniors while learning about important issues affecting their lives.

Samuels is a well-respected expert in senior citizens’ rights, elder abuse prevention, and advocacy.

She will share valuable insights and practical advice on how seniors can protect themselves and their rights in today’s complex world.

Her presentation will cover topics such as: understanding your rights – learn about the legal and financial rights that every senior should be aware of; elder abuse prevention – strategies to recognise and prevent elder abuse; and accessing support services.

Samuels will answer questions from the audience, providing personalised guidance on specific concerns.

“We are excited to have Jenny from Seniors Rights as our guest speaker for this event,” Community Engagement Officer at Iris Foundation Sharyn Becker said.

“We believe that knowledge is empowering, and Jenny’s expertise will equip our senior community with essential information to lead happier, healthier, and more secure lives.”

This event is open to all seniors in the community, as well as their friends and family members who are interested in supporting their loved ones.

A Devonshire morning tea will also be served.
