Man trapped as car hits tree

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was quickly on the scene

A man in his 20s was trapped in his car for some time following a single-vehicle accident near Wyee on July 25.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 7am to the scene on Hue Hue Rd near Wyee.

The vehicle had left the road and hit a tree, with the male driver trapped for some time before being released by emergency services.

He was treated by local paramedics and the Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team for serious leg and internal injuries before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.
