Facelift for Deepwater Plaza

Deepwater plaza in Woy Woy

Woy Woy’s Deepwater Plaza, now under new ownership, is about to get a facelift with beautification work already underway.

Upgrade works will include external repainting including the whale mural on the Railway St façade, first painted in 2009.

The painting project is expected to be completed at the end of this month.

A centre management spokesperson said the mural had been part of Deepwater Plaza’s visual fabric for the past 14 years and with the centre’s 40th anniversary next year, it was time for a centre makeover.

Local artists and community representatives have been involved in considerations for a new mural design, set to be unveiled in coming months.

Built in 1984, the 17,417m2 centre is anchored by a strong performing Coles supermarket, Kmart discount department store, Service NSW and national chain retailers.
