Police worker charged with DUI

A NSW Police civilian employee has been charged with drink-driving following a two-vehicle crash at San Remo.

At about 11.30pm on Saturday, April 15, emergency services were called to the Pacific Hwy near Goorama Ave following reports of a two-vehicle crash.

On arrival, officers from Traffic and Highway Patrol Command found a Ford Ranger and a Mini Cooper had collided.

The 35-year-old driver of the Ford was not injured but the front seat passenger, a 24-year-old woman, was taken to Wyong Hospital in a stable condition.

Driver of the Cooper, a 45-year-old woman, underwent a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result.

The woman, who is a NSW Police civilian employee, was arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station, where she allegedly returned a breath analysis result of 0.187.

She was charged with drive with high-range PCA, and not give way at lights to oncoming vehicle (right turn) and is due to appear at Wyong Local Court on Monday, May 15.

Her driver licence was suspended, and her employment status is under review.
