Caravanners club chalks up 30 years

Some of the happy caravanners

Central Coast Caravanners celebrated their 30th anniversary recently with a week of camping at Lake Macquarie.

The club had its first meeting on March 21, 1993, at Wyong.

President Wayne Read welcomed all to the celebration and original 30-year members Noelene and John Nicholas and Lynne Sonter cut the birthday cake.

Most members of the group are retired folk who have time to travel.

During this past year the most popular trips were a tour through Victoria to Yorke Peninsula in South Australia, a winter break in Maroochydore in Queensland, the Working Clydesdale Show at Barellan, and a beach holiday at Tuncurry.

Monthly meetings are held at Terrigal 50+ Leisure and Learning Centre, and those not currently travelling keep in contact with lunches, picnics and outings.

New members are always welcome and those interested should contact Harry Scales on 0437 437 213.
