Man suffers spinal injuries after surf dump

The man was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital

A man suffered spinal injuries after being dumped in the surf at Soldiers Beach on December 30.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team responded by road ambulance just after 1pm to rendezvous with NSW Ambulance Paramedics en-route to Belmont Helicopter Base.

The 55-year-old man had been rendered unconscious after being dumped in the surf.

Lifeguards performed CPR on the man until NSW Ambulance arrived and took over treatment and road transported him.

The man was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious condition for further treatment.
