Entries still open for youth photography competition

Entries will close at 5pm on January 27

Central Coast Council is encouraging young people aged 12-24 who have snapped some great photos of the region during the summer holidays to enter the Your World Your Way Youth Photography Competition before January 27.

Photos can be submitted by any young people who live, work or study on the Central Coast and should be a representation of their daily lives and lived experiences in the region.

The top 20 images will be printed, framed, and exhibited at Erina Centre Foyer during Youth Week (April 20-30) and will be in the running to win a range of Apple product prizes.

The initiative is run by Council’s Youth Team to ensure images for young people are taken by young people.

Photos submitted will also be used by the Youth Services team to advertise future youth-related programs and projects.

Images can be of young people enjoying the region’s amenities including skate parks, playgrounds, beaches and national parks.

The winner will receive an Apple MacBook Pro valued at $2,999, with the runner up to receive an iPad Pro valued at $1,199 and the winner of the People’s Choice award to take home an AirPods Pro valued at $399 and a $100 Itunes card.

Winner and runner up winners will be selected by a panel of judges comprising two Y4Y Action Team Members, one Council staff representative and an industry expert/professional photographer.

People’s choice will be selected by the public with a QR code in the Erina Centre foyer for members of the public to scan and vote for their favourite photo during the exhibition dates.
