Man fatally stabbed at Woy Woy

Police will be out in force on the Coast leading up to the holiday weekend.

A strike force has been established as inquiries continue into an alleged fatal stabbing at Woy Woy on Saturday.

Emergency Services were called to Macarthur Street at Woy Woy at about 6.15 pm on December 17 where they found a man unconscious in the street with multiple stab wounds.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District commenced CPR until the arrival of Ambulance paramedics however, the man died at the scene.

While he is yet to be formally identified, it’s believed he is a 41-year-old local man.

Police established crime scenes at multiple locations, including on nearby Railway St, where it’s believed the stabbing took place.

Strike Force Ambyne has been established by local detectives, assisted by the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad.

While the investigation is in its infancy, it’s believed it was a targeted incident and there is no ongoing threat to the local community.
