Locally based country music entertainer Jason Owen of X Factor fame has been on a mission to lose a lot of weight after the arrival of the couple’s first baby recently.
Like many in the music industry, Jason has led a hectic life of recording, live music and promotional activities and found the lifestyle led to poor eating and exercise habits.
Speaking to Central Coast Newspapers he said:
“I struggled with my mental health and weight and was pushing 130 kg..
“Back in February a fan took a picture of me at my Newcastle show at Lizotte’s Nightclub and posted it to my
Facebook page. I was so stunned at how heavy I looked and knew I had to do something about it, particularly as my
daughter was due in March and I wanted to be a fit, happy dad,” he said.
“Like many guys, I thought I could lose weight myself without help, but soon realised I didn’t know what I was doing!”
Jason researched many help programs before deciding to go with Australian-based Jenny Craig as his weight loss partner.
“My amazing Jenny Craig coach Louise taught me so much about what and how much I should be eating and exercising. I also didn’t know anything about intermittent fasting and it’s been so easy as the Recharge Bar keeps me going for ages. I’m now the healthiest I’ve ever been, and it’s changed my life.”
Owen has lost a total of 35 kilograms so far and his partner joined the program and has also lost some kilos and found a healthier weight.
Owen can be seen out and about proudly wheeling his baby daughter in her stroller.
