A local art teacher will guest present the Central Coast Watercolour Society’s (CCWS) Easter Showcase Exhibition at the Gosford Regional Gallery this month.
Judith Hoste will be a featured artist at the exhibition, which will run from April 14-27, with the April 14 official opening at 6pm followed by light refreshments.
The exhibition will showcase the talent of Central Coast Watercolour Society members and feature works on the “beautiful translucency of watercolour”, which will also be for sale.
The award-winning artist and teacher will express her unique creativity on Yupo paper in the featured painting.
“I have been painting since 1981 and teaching plus exhibiting from 1985. I work in oils, watercolours, acrylics and pastels and tutor in these mediums,” Hoste said.
“In 1985, after teaching for the Amber Arts Gallery, Umina Beach, for one year, I became co-owner of the Gallery with my husband.
“I have been a member of the Central Coast Art Society since 1984 and was elected President in 2016. I am also a member of the Central Coast Watercolour Society and the Toukley and Districts Art Society.
“I teach regularly and tutor workshops for various Central Coast Art Societies. In 2015 I was invited to take a group to Norfolk Island for en plein air tutoring.”
Judith has exhibited since 1984, and won multiple awards including the Scone Art Prize in 2009.
She has had work represented in the UK, USA, New Zealand, South Africa, North Korea, Norway and Sweden.
The exhibition will also feature free “Try Your Hand” watercolour sessions on Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 from 1-4pm.
The CCWS is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers.
