The Central Coast’s Community First Credit Union has raised $1M for the McGrath Foundation since 2009.

Over the past 11 years, Community First, with financial services stores at Erina Fair and Gorokan, has donated $20 of the annual fee for its Low Rate Pink Credit Card holders and more recently $1 of the monthly fee for Pink Debit card holders to the Foundation.

“We are very proud the Low Rate Pink credit card is Australia’s only credit card supporting people with breast cancer and their families,” Chief Executive, John Tancevski, said.

The Low Rate Pink Credit Card was launched 11 years ago to support the McGrath Foundation established by the late Jane McGrath and her Test cricketing great husband Glenn.

It is also one of the few credit cards offering an interest rate below 9% p.a.

“We are delighted our members on the Central Coast have supported this important cause and that we have done our bit in helping to create breast cancer awareness in the region.” Tancevski said.

The Low Rate Pink credit card also offers a 0% p.a. interest rate on balance transfers for six months for members who apply for the card by July 31.

“The 0% p.a. fee on balance transfers will help those members of our community doing it tough due to COVID-19,” Tancevski said.

McGrath Foundation President and Co-Founder, Glenn McGrath, said when the Foundation entered into the partnership it had no idea it would raise $1M for McGrath Breast Care Nurses.

“We couldn’t be prouder that Community First has continued to back an initiative that has supported the McGrath Foundation and people with breast cancer,” he said.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to Community First Credit Union and all of the wonderful Community First members on the Central Coast for your incredible support.”
