Some National Parks and all Central Coast Council bushland reserves, picnic areas and walking tracks are closed due to the current bush fires and weather conditions. Additionally, all Council Cemeteries are closed Sat 4 to Sun 5 Jan.
The forecast for Saturday from the Bureau of Meteorology is for a hot and mostly sunny, becoming windy with a maximums of 35 degrees Celsius over most of the Central Coast. A cool change is expected late in the evening.
Several National Parks and state forests have been closed today too. These include the Watagans National Park & Jilliby State Conservation Area. For a full list of current park closures consult the National Parks Alert list.
A total fire ban has been declared by the NSW Rural Fire Service. The total fire ban applies for the entire 24-hour period, starting 12am Saturday morning. Up to date information can be found at RFS alerts page.
A POOR Air Quality Forecast alert is issued by the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) due to forecast elevated particle and ozone levels in Sydney for Saturday 04 January 2020.
The Central Coast Lifetime Learning Centre (CARES facility) is also currently closed.
