The NSW Cavy Club, the Central Coast’s own guinea pig enthusiasts club, will host a mega pet show at the Wyee Community Centre from 10am on Sunday, October 7.
Cavy Club President, Michelle Parker, said the Club has been hosting a series of Cavy shows and competitions over 2018, running the public pet show alongside these events, and according to Parker, the pet shows proved so popular that club members decided to hold the mega pet show as a separate event for the fi rst time. “This will give us more time to run the classes and also allow for additional classes to be offered so each cavy entered will be able to go into numerous classes.
“It will be the first event of its kind on the Central Coast and there will be great prizes on offer and goodies for everyone who attends,” she said. The mega pet show is open to everybody, with the Club planning many displays and guinea pig care tutorials for interested Coasties. “We will be also running a few demonstrations at the show, such as trimming nails and looking after longhaired cavies as a pet, and I myself will be doing a live demonstration on bathing cavies,” Parker said. “We will also open up a question and answer time with our members, to help with any questions you may have regarding owning guinea pigs as pets, or becoming a member of the Club,” she said. Entry and parking at the pet show is free.
