Lachie Wales, former Terrigal High School student, Umina local, and a rising star at the Central Coast Mariners, has signed with Melbourne City Football Club.
Melbourne City FC announced the signing of Wales, along with two other new acquisitions, Osama Malik and Anthony Caceres, on June 25. Melbourne City FC’s Director of Football, Mr Michael Petrillo, said Wales was a promising player, whose signing came off the back of an exceptional debut with the Mariners. “We are entirely focused on building the best possible team to help us achieve our ambitions this season. “Lachlan is a strong young talent with significant potential”, Mr Petrillo said. At just 20-years-old, Wales debuted for the Marines during their less than stellar 2017-18 season. The young attacking midfielder made just 11 appearances with the Mariners.
