Central Coast Council will be holding a special memorial service on May 12, at Wamberal Cemetery, to honour mums who have passed on.
“Mothers’ Day is a day to recognise and thank our mothers for the innumerable contributions they have made to our lives,” Mayor Jane Smith said. Mayor Smith, who will be attending this memorial service, said that for some whose mothers have passed away, Mothers’ Day can be a day of mixed emotions. “All over the Central Coast, families will come together to celebrate Mothers’ Day and pay tribute to the women in their lives. “For some, this means remembering those they have lost,” Mayor Smith said.
“As such, we will be hosting a special Mothers’ Day memorial service at Wamberal Cemetery. “This free service will be an opportunity to stop for a moment and take the time to remember our mums, our grandmas, and our aunties, as well as any other mother figures that have touched our lives and have passed on. “Please join us, and make it a special day to remember,” she said. Council’s Mother’s Day Service will be held from 11 am with light refreshments served after. Last years’ service, held at Noraville Cemetery, was well received by the community, and Council is hoping to make the service this year just as memorable and special for everyone.
