Dream on and keep talking

The empty Kibbleplex

In regards to Coast Community News edition 180, re: The Planning Minister viewing the revitalisation of Gosford Township, my first reaction was: What a load of “Bunkam” in saying that Kibble Park has to be the focal point.

I recall only a couple of years ago that Gosford Council did an entire makeover of Kibble Park and it has made little difference.

The cost of all these men in suits, sprouting big words and expensive ideas, will probably be borne by us, the ratepayers.

Talk, talk, talk, lots of plans and glossy pictures, but in the long run, nothing happens. Just like the amalgamation of Gosford and Wyong Council’s costing you and me up to $150m. These so-called experts couldn’t design a shoelace.

You want an example, look at the mess West Gosford is in with the new intersection at Manns Rd and Brisbane Water Dve Another five years and traffic will be at gridlock.

Gosford needs the property owners to realise that the old defunct buildings they own need urgent total refurbishing or demolition to achieve the new modern look we all desire.

Then you need a new and more successful breed of community to inject enough money in to support new tenants.

Classically it’s a case of ‘it will not happen in our lifetime’. So dream on and keep talking.
