Council’s next Household Chemical Collections will be held at Long Jetty Depot, Bateau Bay, from 9am to 3:30pm on March 3 & at 24, 25 February at Gosford Showground.
The free service allows locals to get rid of any unwanted chemicals. Locals can drop off solvents and household cleaners, floor care products, Ammonia-based cleaners, pesticides and herbicides, poisons, pool chemicals, hobby chemicals, motor fuels, fluorescent globes and tubes, acids and alkalines, smoke detectors, paint and paint-related products, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, car and household batteries, motor oils and cooking oils. Only household quantities accepted up to a maximum of 20 litres or 20 kilograms of a single item. Council asks that locals ensure they transport their materials carefully and remain inside their vehicle at the collection site.
