A woman has died and a man is in a critical condition after a single-vehicle crash in Erina on January 9.
At about 10am, emergency services were called to the Central Coast Highway, near Avoca Dve, Erina, after reports that a vehicle left the roadway and struck water pipes.
A female passenger died at the scene.
The male driver was treated at the scene and is expected to be airlifted to a Sydney hospital in a critical condition.
Officers attached to Brisbane Water Local Area Command have established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined.
Police are calling for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.
Motorists are advised to monitor livetraffic.com for traffic diversions.
