CareFlight treat woman struck by car at Wamberal

A 58-year-old woman has suffered head injuries after she was struck by a car on Ghersi Ave, Wamberal, on Monday, January 12.

The woman was hit near the local shopping centre after an elderly driver collided with a number of parked cars and a fence before hitting the female pedestrian.

The CareFlight rapid response trauma team were called at around 9:35am and landed shortly after in a paddock close to the scene.

The woman was stabilised and intubated by CareFlight’s specialist doctor and paramedic and then airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

NSW Police and NSW Ambulance were also in attendance at the scene.

There were no reports of injury to the elderly driver or anyone else at the scene.
