Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch is urging local residents to report to Crime Stoppers any individuals or businesses breaking the rules this weekend.
“With millions of Sydneysiders about to face another weekend in lockdown, it’s possible that some people may try to visit our region for a daytrip or weekend away,” Mr Crouch said.
“Local residents are the eyes and ears for our Police, which is why I’m encouraging people to report potential breaches of the Public Health Order to Crime Stoppers.
“Once the risk of COVID-19 is behind us we will roll out the red carpet for tourists to return and support local businesses, but under the current Public Health Order, taking a holiday is not a reasonable excuse for leaving home.
“All it would take is a small number of people doing the wrong thing to cause COVID-19 to spread through the community.”
Mr Crouch said the Delta strain of COVID-19 is highly contagious and extremely transmissible.
“I’m asking everyone to be vigilant by avoiding busy areas like Terrigal Esplanade, The Entrance waterfront and Ettalong foreshore,” Mr Crouch said.
“It’s okay to leave home for essential reasons, including outdoor exercise with a maximum of 2 at a time, but please do it in a COVID-safe way.”
Police officers will continue to issue $1,000 on-the-spot fines for not following the Public Health Order and $200 on-the-spot fines for not wearing a mask.

Thay shouldn’t be allowed up the central coast to live in their holiday homes. Thay should stay in their first house
