High level praise for Gosford Hospital

Readers' forum letters

Having just spent three days in the emergency ward at Gosford Hospital, I have nothing but high praise for our local medical institution.

The quality of care was wonderful and the dedication to patient care by the ever-cheerful, friendly and remarkably hard-working nursing staff was superb.

  1. And yet a patient went in for a routine surgery last week which somehow ended up involving two broken teeth and friction burns to their back, but no mention of it during recovery or discharge.

I too have had two emergencies with family members
    write letter of thanks .
The dedication these people display is amazing.
I have nothing but praise for Gosford Hospital.

  3. What a CROCK OF BS Unbelievable BS

I and Many Others I know are rolling our eyes and say what BS story is this. I have spent many hours and days in the ER for not just my mum but for my sister and for other people too and the treatment there is deplorable the nurses 90% of them are lazy and too busy chatting about their private lives and as for a doctor good luck with that good luck with that. The level of disrespect showed to the elderly is disgusting and try asking for a bottle of water. Whoever wrote that piece of garbage is an out and out liar or you are someone special and they knew it.

  5. My 89 year old mother with end stage cancer including liver metastases had to stand to have an x-ray when she had right shoulder tip pain. They also wanted her to have a colonoscopy due to her low haemoglobin. She had had a previous admission in the Palliative Care Ward due to her end stage bowel cancer in January 2024 so why would a doctor suggest this. It would not have taken much research to know this however I had to send scans from October 2023 to show her clinical history.

It is disappointing that elderly unknown patients receive different treatment.

I can only support the comments made by Tony Adams. Having been treated for myeloma at Gosford Cancer Centre for many months I cannot speak highly enough of the care I have received from a thoroughly professional and attentive medical team. My appreciation is unbounded.

  7. a couple of years ago I spent a day in ed at Gosford hospital just what you need on Christmas day. a kidney stone. The operating theatre is great for Christmas day and the staff were very good and sympathetic

Having had a couple of unforseen trips to E.R at Gosford Hospital myself in recent years, there is no doubting the professional standards that are in place.Although quite busy on my visits, the medical staff on duty communicated and treated me with great care in a timely manner.Full credit to the medical team and management, it’s reassuring to know that the Central Coast region has a truly world class hospital in Gosford.

my partner and I have had excellent care here.Fantastic staff. It’s such a shame Gosford Hospital is so grossly under funded .What’s the point of building such a place of care and not supporting it financially?
