On the last Saturday of every month except December, a Repair Cafe is run at Terrigal Uniting Church from 10am to 1pm.
People can bring along items that are broken, and skilled volunteers will try to repair them, and also teach the owners of the items how to do repairs.
A church spokesperson said the aim was to upskill people, save items from landfill, help people save money and stop items going to landfill to help protect the environment.
“We have barista coffee, cakes, and woodfired pizzas available during that time as well so people can have a chat and enjoy some community time,” the spokesperson said.
The dates for the rest of this year are September 27, October 25, November 29, then into 2026 on January 31, and February 28.
The church is at 380 Terrigal Dr, Terrigal.
