Clare’s Law is a great initiative (CCN 498) but the changes to the Sex Discrimination Act in 2013 have diminished the rights of women, and that sends a message that women do not matter which in turn leads to violence against women.
How does the Labor leadership not realise this?

For context, the 2013 amendments were ones that added protections against “discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation, gender identity and intersex status in many areas of public life.” Or in other words, added LGBTQIA+ discrimination to the Sex Discrimination Act.
*sigh*……
Rights aren’t pie. Someone else getting more rights doesn’t mean you lose yours.
And if memory serves, assault rates for transgender women are at least as high as for non-trans women, if not higher. There’s something to think about
