Two 14-year-old boys have been charged over an alleged ram raid at a Berkeley Vale shop in Lakedge Ave.
The incident took place at about 2.20am on Wednesday, July 30.
Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District attended and were told an allegedly stolen Mazda sedan had been rammed into a shop front, before a group of males allegedly stole multiple boxes of vapes and left the scene.
There was significant damage to the shop.
Police established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the incident.
The Mazda was later located abandoned at Killarney Vale.
It is alleged to have been stolen from Long Jetty between Monday, July 28 and 2am, Wednesday, July 30.
Following inquiries, two 14-year-old boys were arrested in Killarney Vale at about 5.30pm on Friday, August 1, and both were taken to Wyong Police Station.
One of the boys was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.
He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Saturday, August 2.
The second boy was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal, shoplifting and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before a children’s court on Tuesday, August 12.
The police investigation is ongoing.
