A vital footpath upgrade along Oakland Ave at The Entrance has now been completed.
The project was made possible with $8M in funding provided to Central Coast Council by the State Government to fund footpath priority improvements across the Central Coast identified in Council’s Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (‘PAMP) and Bike Plan.
Oakland Ave is a high pedestrian area which provides access to The Entrance Public School and is a thoroughfare to The Entrance township.
The footpath upgrade, which took place between Campbell Ave and Fairview Ave, provides a well-connected path for residents and makes the walk to school safer and more accessible for children and families.
It is one of 10 projects which will be delivered by Central Coast Council across The Entrance electorate.
Member for The Entrance David Mehan said the absence of a footpath along Oakland Ave was a major concern for the community and he had long been advocating for it.
“Another highly anticipated footpath is planned for Brooke Ave, Killarney Vale, which has been a long-standing priority for my community,” he said.
“The Minns Labor Government is committed to improving accessibility and I’m glad that The Entrance electorate is benefiting from these essential footpath upgrades.”
