Guns seized, two in custody after pursuit that started in Copacabanda

Three guns have been seized and a couple were taken into police custody after a pursuit through the Central Coast on Monday morning, July 7.

Officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District attempted to stop a sedan on Del Rio Dr, Copacabana, at about 7.40am.

When the driver allegedly failed to stop when directed, a pursuit was initiated.

The sedan was involved in a minor collision with a police vehicle, causing minor damage, but failed to stop.

The pursuit continued north through Kincumber, Avoca and Terrigal.

The sedan turned onto Cabarita St, Wamberal, where it crashed.

No injuries were reported in either crash.

A 27-year-old man and 33-year-old woman were arrested at the scene.

When police searched the sedan they found three firearms, which were taken for further examination.

The man and woman were taken to Gosford Police Station.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday, 8 July 2025 .

The 33-year-old woman arrested at the scene has since been released without charge.
