I write regarding recent incidences of vandalism by young people at Wyong, causing considerable damage and disruption to a local small business.
I recently attended a community rally at Erina called by the local community to protest about similar issues – home invasions, thefts, property damage and general teen rowdyism.
The room was packed with a number of the audience sharing personal stories of distressing incidents.
The Commander of Brisbane Water Police Command was present and addressed policing matters.
Core issues of soft sentencing under the Young Offenders Act and repeated bail being granted to repetitive offenders were largely glossed over, unfortunately.
Throughout this extensive community concern, we’ve heard nothing from Tuggerah Lakes Police Command.
I suggest a similar meeting be held at Wyong.
