Gosford and Wyong still popular with homebuyers

Gosford remains popular with first homebuyers

Although growth in housing purchases across the state continues to be led by the western and south-western corridors, both Wyong and Gosford remain popular with buyers seeking lifestyle and value.

Property technology firm InfoTrack began tracking the state’s postcodes with the highest number of overall sales last quarter and has just released its quarterly Property Market Update listing the suburbs with the highest sales volumes from January 1 to March 31 this year.

Wyong remained in the top 10 list for overall property sales, just making the list at number 10.

This demonstrates continued buyer interest in the Central Coast region, likely driven by relative affordability and commuter access to Sydney, the report said.

Meanwhile, Gosford rose to the number six position for first homebuyer sales, reflecting its appeal as a coastal commuter suburb with improving transport and lifestyle offerings.

InfoTrack Head of Property Australia Lee Bailie said regional areas were strongly represented with Orange and East and North Wagga Wagga joining Gosford and surrounds as popular locations outside the Greater Western Sydney area.

“We’ve seen growing popularity for regional centres right across the state,” he said.

“We’re seeing a trend of house buyers increasingly exploring outer-metro and regional areas, thanks to their growth potential, more accessible price points, and the lifestyles on offer.”
