Artwork by husband and wife on show

Lorraine Best and Richard Sakurovs

Award winning husband and wife Lorraine Best and Richard Sakurovs are the featured artists at Heatherbrae Pies throughout April and May.

Each month local artists show their work in an upstairs gallery at the Ourimbah business.

Lorraine Best started painting at an early age due to her father’s interest in art.

Her inspiration comes from the Australian landscape and daily experiences.

Best has won many awards and currently has two award-winning paintings in the Hornsby Shire Art Collection.

She paints in water colour and acrylic mediums, and continually develops her skills.

Richard Sakurovs began his career with the Bankstown Art Society in 1970.

He says art has played an important role in his life, not least because that is where he met his wife.

His primary mediums are acrylic and pen and ink.

His inspiration comes from the local environment and the technical aspect of converting scenes into paintings.

The Art Gallery is a beautiful venue in the upstairs space in the gluten-free restaurant at Heatherbrae Pies, 207 Pacific Hwy, Ourimbah.
