The second Central Coast Women’s Health Forum was held at Erina on February 18, with more than 150 attending.
Federal Member for Robertson Dr Gordon Reid was joined at the forum by Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care Ged Kearney and local doctor Colette Hourigan.
“Our second Central Coast Women’s Health Forum was an opportunity for women and healthcare professionals to discuss issues affecting local healthcare in our region,” Reid said.
“I facilitate these forums so that our community can participate in policy development and be a part of improvements.
“It was fantastic to have local women’s healthcare specialist, Dr Colette Hourigan, who provided her expertise during discussions.
“Former nurse, now Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care Ged Kearney, was also able to provide an update on recent women’s healthcare investments that have been announced by the Federal Labor Government.
“This record funding will deliver access to new PBS listed medications, more support to women living with menopause, and additional endometriosis and pelvic pain clinics.
“There was a focus on ensuring that the NSW Government and Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) continue to work to address maternity services.
“As the Federal Member for Robertson, I will continue to represent our community on this matter and work with the NSW Government, and CCLHD, to resolve this issue.”
The forum took place at the Impact Centre, Erina.
