The Entrance and other locations on the Central Coast experiencing an influx of either “free campers” or homeless persons camped at recreational parks or carparks is a major concern. (CCN 473 “Squatters and illegal campers continue to cause concern)
However, we are not alone as this is becoming a serious problem throughout the state.
As the cost-of-living crisis continues to take its toll on individuals, families and small businesses I fear for even more of this in the future.
The current Federal Government’s ineptitude and madness is wasting billions of taxpayers’ dollars on net zero madness and turning this country into a socialist welfare state of despondent homeless people.
After the lockdown of COVID we should have been entering a period of economic prosperity.
Not so – with ever-increasing energy costs, housing shortages, the lack of real productivity employment, created by the Albanese Government – it is very evident at Picnic Point.
Let’s hope 2025 sees us turn the corner.

Hard to blame those who seek a beautiful place like the Central Coast to bunker down overnight in these turbulent times. And whilst this issue has both our local council and residents rightly concerned, once again we know that the real problem is the apathy of both State and National leadership at present. With many other tourist hotspots becoming off limits globally, Australia will undoubtedly see an influx of overseas visitors. In combination with locals who have been financially gutted, this issue is only going to snowball.A big overnight setup similar to the well designed example adjoining the Hawkesbury River bridge is paramount moving forward.Apart from finding a suitable position for such a solution it could be constructed without any great cost (a carpark and toilet facilities all that is needed). Central Coast Council need to be looking ahead on this ballooning problem as it will only exacerbate with time.
