The new Mariyung intercity rail fleet hit Central Coast tracks and Gosford Erina Business Chamber called for the establishment of a Central Coast Development Corporation to take over the revitalisation of the Gosford waterfront.
A huge paddle out was held on the Central Coast calling for action on domestic violence and 20,000 people flocked to the Lakes Festival.
Gosford Regional Gallery won a major award at the 2024 Imagine awards and The Lakes Hotel at The Entrance was named number one TAB/Wagering Venue in Australia at the 2024 AHI National Awards for Excellence.
Business NSW and Gosford Erina Business Chamber announced that the 2025 Central Coast Visitor Economy Awards would be launched in late January 2025 and the region’s business and community leaders took their place on the Community All-Stars team to face off against the NDIS Social Futures team in the annual Blind Cricket Community Challenge.
The nursing crisis worsened on the Central Coast and the region’s commuters faced delays going into the New Year as negotiations between rail unions and the state government over pay and conditions continued to stall.
It was announced that the Central Coast will be home to one of 10 new refugees for survivors of domestic and family violence to be set up by the State Government in 2026.

The highly anticipated Magenta Shared Pathway was officially opened.
The region geared up for Christmas with various carols events and the old pub at Woy Woy reopened just in time for Christmas following a major revamp.
