Marine Rescue Central Coast (MRCC) has revised and released an update of its four-colour map of Brisbane Water, thanks to their new business partner, DMT Marine Constructions.
DMT Managing Director Dean Teni said his company immediately saw the benefit of such a localised guide and offered his support to Marine Rescue to immediately print 1,000 copies.
The updated Guide to Brisbane Water is laminated for use on boats and can be mounted as a wall chart in the office or home.
Qualified Marine Rescue coxswains and crew have been going over the old guide with a fine-tooth comb and have made several adjustments to include cardinal markers, emergency and courtesy mooring locations and name corrections.
The map also shows all current navigation marks, lights and channels – in particular the notorious ocean bar at Little Box Head.
Also included are all public launching ramps, public jetties, available toilets and public mooring locations.
MRCC Unit Commander Ian Morrow said the map enabled recreational boaties and fishermen to safely navigate the many tricky channels on and around Brisbane Water.
It will help visitors locate local restaurants with boat docks and the guide includes all marinas and fuel locations as well as other safety information.
The new map is currently available direct from Marine Rescue Central Coast’s base at the Peninsula Community Centre Woy Woy, BCF West Gosford, Boat Warehouse in Sydney and many popular boating, bait and fishing shops on the Coast.
If any Central Coast business would like to sell the guide, they should contact David Wicks on 0410 652 775.
The guide is a must for the safety of all boaties who use Brisbane Water and is priced at just $5.
